Only Available in Madinah

Yes, this is the logo of Starbucks, the largest coffeehouse company in the world. But, wait a minute! Is it really the Starbucks’ logo??

Alright, to refresh your mind, let’s see how the original Starbucks’ logo looks like:

The original Starbucks' logo

You see the difference?!?!

My brother discovered the “new” logo of Starbucks when we visited Madinah about 2 weeks ago. At first, he was not sure whether it is the real Starbucks or the “fake” one. But when he saw the (original) logo printed on the cup and the staff’s shirt, he realised that it was indeed Starbucks. In Madinah, Starbucks is located in front of Nabawi Mosque.

According to Wikipedia, the logo is “twin-tailed siren” (siren in the Greek methology). The siren in the logo is topless.

Perhaps that’s the reason why the logo needs to be changed! :D

I’m pretty sure the rule only exists for all Starbucks opened around the Grand Mosques (including in Mekkah). But anyhow I think it’s quite ridiculous!

… in search of Starbucks in Mekkah… will post more if I find interesting discovery! :P
